Day 5-Last Day in Florida

Today was a little sad becasue it was our last day in Florida!
We went to Hollywood Studios, and the first ride I went on was Tower of Terror. I was SO excited—I love drop rides, so it was definitely a favorite!

After that, we went on a bunch of other rides and spent some time shopping, just trying to soak in every last minute of the trip. It was definitely bittersweet knowing it was all coming to an end.

I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported me in any way. This trip meant so much to me, and I’m so grateful to have such amazing people cheering me on.

I truly loved every second of this experience and will never forget it!

Day 4-Disney Day

Today was finally our Disney day, and we started at Magic Kingdom! I was SO excited—I’ve been looking forward to this forever.

When we got there, we all rode Haunted Mansion, which was extra fun because that movie inspired our VOC show. I loved getting to walk through and look at all the little details—it made it even more special.

Of course, seeing Cinderella’s Castle in person was unreal. It’s so pretty, and I love that they painted it blue!

After Magic Kingdom, I headed over to Animal Kingdom, which was really cool to explore. There’s just so much to see everywhere you go.

Before the day ended, I rode The Princess and the Frog ride—it was SO fun! And the beignets… so good!!

To end the night, we watched the fireworks, and they were absolutely amazing. Such a perfect way to finish the day!

Day 3-Universal

We started the day with breakfast, then hopped on the bus headed to Universal—something I had been looking forward to for a longggg time!

The second we got there, I was SO excited. First stop: Harry Potter World (obviously). It was everything I hoped for and more—and yes, I got a wand!

We went back and forth between parks all day, trying to hit as much as we could. My favorite ride was definitely The Hulk—it was SO much fun!
Such a fun day, and I already can’t wait to go back!

Day 2- Comp Day “Heart of America”

Such a fun day, and I already can’t wait to go back!
We started the day grabbing breakfast, which was actually really good! Then we headed to the competition and had some time to watch.

Then it was finally our turn. We went on stage and honestly killed it, and our critiques from the judges went great too! After we performed, we got Chick-fil-A sandwiches (which were so good).

We then had to wait and watch the rest of the nationally ranked show choirs perform. The talent here is insane! It’s actually really cool getting to see how different show choirs are in different states (but I still think Texas is the best!).

They only take 5 groups into finals, so it’s really hard to be one of those 5. Especially in a competition as stacked as ours.

When it was time for prelim results, we all sat together in the audience waiting… We didn’t make finals, which was a little disappointing. It’s hard knowing that your preliminary performance ends up being your last…especially for the seniors.

But it ended up being okay because we got to go to Disney Springs and walk around and shop for a bit.

Of course… it started pouring rain (because Florida), and we had to walk back to the competition completely soaked. Not ideal!

We finally made it back for final awards and ended up getting 8th place (7th runner-up). We really thought we would have ended up higher and so do many in the show choir community. But, we had so much fun and made the best memories, which is what really matters.

Keep following along… Universal today!

Day 1 – Travel Day

I started the day at school, just counting down the minutes until 2:30.

When it was finally time to go, we hopped on charter buses, which was really cool because I’ve never ridden on one before. Our OAP competed and met us at the airport and they advanced to the next round!! So exciting!

Once we got to the airport, I grabbed Panera (so good!), and then it was time to board.

The plane ride was really nice, I had the window seat and got to just sit back, relax, and take it all in.
We finally made it to our hotel… only one bag got lost (thankfully not mine). We’re all settled in our rooms now, getting ready to be taped in for the night.

I’m so excited for competition tomorrow, I can’t wait!

Make sure to follow along on my journey by reading the rest of my blogs later this week. And don’t forget to support us—tune into the livestream! We perform at 12:45 Texas time!

We’re Headed to Orlando!

Thanks so much for following along on our Voices of Central trip to Orlando for the Heart of America (HOA) Show Choir Competition!

I also want to take a moment to say thank you again to everyone who sponsored a turkey. Your support truly made it possible for me to go on this trip, and I’m so grateful!

If you haven’t heard, it’s been an exciting show choir season for us. Right now, we’re ranked 41st in the nation, which is such a huge accomplishment, and we couldn’t be more excited!

My first competition as a freshman was at the Cowtown Classic, where VOC walked away as Champion!

Our second competition was at the HEB Invitational, where we placed 2nd runner-up.

Our third competition was at the Southlake Showdown, where we were named Daytime Champions and 1st runner-up in the Final Showdown! It was such an amazing way to finish out our Texas competition season.
